Main application: What is 7075 series aluminum alloy used for ?

Used in the manufacture of aircraft structures and other high stress structural parts that require high strength and corrosion resistance, such as aircraft upper and lower wing wall panels. After solid solution heat treatment, it has good plasticity, high strength at 150 degrees Celsius, and particularly good low temperature strength, poor welding performance, stress corrosion and cracking tendency, double-stage aging can improve the anti-SCC performance.

What’s the difference between 2024 and 7075 aluminum?

In fact, both aluminum alloy 2024 and 7075 aluminum is hard aluminum.

• Chemistry composition different: 7075 aluminm is Al-Mg-Zn-Cu alloy aluminum plate is Al-Cu aluminum, it contains Cu over 3.8 – 4.9%.
• Mechanical Properties, mainly different is 2024T4 aluminum plate is 120HB, 7075 T651 aluminum plate hardness is over 160HB.
